Shriver House Expands!!
June 1st marked the much anticipated expansion of the
Shriver House Museum Shop. After 11 months of restoration (which is still in progress), we have moved the Museum Shop into the building next door to the
Shriver House. This home was built by James Pierce
(Tillie's father) for one of his children in the 1870's. Having been vacant for the last 7 years, time was really taking it's toll on the structure. We were fortunate to be in a position to acquire it. The new building offers an entrance from Baltimore Street which means visitors won't have to walk down the alleyway. Of course, you're still invited to visit the garden behind the house at anytime. This new space also allows for a much larger reception and museum shop area. We were also able to expand our artifact area and now display more items discovered during the restoration. We hope you can stop by to see the changes that have been made. The
Shriver House Museum Shop offers a selection of fine gifts, civil war related items such as jewelry, toys and books, and a small selection of antiques.
